Welcome Back, Faculty, Residents and Students!
We are excited to welcome you back to all that this coming academic year has in store – a great number of programs are moving forward with scholarly activity opportunities available through FPIN, and are adding value to their research requirements by turning them around into published format – FPIN publishes PEPID PCP (for point-of-care), Evidence-Based Practice (monthly), and the Clinical Inquiries series (published monthly in JFP and AFP). We want to help you get your group engaged in scholarly activity and publication as well!

FPIN Clinical Inquiry cited in the New York Times
Jane Brody, the New York Times’ Personal Health columnist, recently cited one of our Clinical Inquiries that has been published in The Journal of Family Practice. On August 21, her “Patient education”-oriented column about lowering cholesterol critiques the tendency for Americans to turn first to pharmaceutical solutions to resolve health problems; it then follows up by referencing researched alternatives published in JFP in June by FPIN contributors Drs. John Saultz and Elizabeth Powers and Andrew Hamilton, MLS (OHSU), with a Clinical Commentary provided by Dr. Vincent Lo (French Camp, CA) - (June 2007, Vol. 56, No. 6: 483-489).

If you or someone from your program will be attending, please let us know so we don’t miss the opportunity to touch base.
