PEPID-FPIN Collaboration
The PEPID Primary Care Plus (PCP) Project is a collaborative effort between PEPID and FPIN, the Family Physicians Inquiries Network, a national non-profit consortium of family medicine departments, residency programs, medical librarians and other experts. Our goal is to develop a comprehensive medical resource dedicated to the unique needs of family physicians. FPIN editors and authors review the medical content of PEPID PCP from the family physician’s point of view, will add new topics important in family medicine, as well as keep the content up to date.
PEPID PCP covers some 2,700 disease topics, some 7,500 drugs, has a drug interactions calculator and multiple other tools. It is designed to provide family physicians and other primary care providers with all of the information they need on a handheld (Palm or Pocket PC) for point of care use in clinic, in the emergency department, on labor and delivery or in the hospital. Ten leading family medicine clinician teachers from FPIN member departments and residency programs serve as Senior Editors for PEPID PCP.
