What does Seth do for FPIN?

Although I am still learning as a recently hired apprentice membership manager, FPIN has wasted no time in letting me get involved with various projects. Currently, I am editing GEMs, managing and assisting with project proposals, and look forward to doing more membership outreach and networking in the future. I have enjoyed the flexibility and academic focus of FPIN so far and have found keeping up with evidence-based medicine to be incredibly engaging.

Background

I graduated from Truman State University in December 2023 with a degree in psychology and a minor in computer science. After graduation, I was accepted into the MPH program at the University of Missouri-Columbia and graduated with my Master of Public Health degree in Spring 2026. I have always been a curious person who is interested in multiple fields of study, but above all else, a person who cares deeply about truth. Throughout my graduate studies, I developed a growing interest in evidence-based practice and view my position at FPIN as an opportunity to get involved in spreading helpful information and educating future medical professionals.

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my girlfriend, gaming with friends, playing guitar, and reading. I also have a 3-year-old poodle named Winnie who I enjoy spending time with, whether at the dog park or just on a walk through our neighborhood.

Fun Facts

I am a fan of most combat sports and weightlifting. I was a pole vaulter in high school and developed a love for the weight room while training with my friends on the basketball team.

What do you love most about FPIN?

I have not been at FPIN long, but I already feel welcomed by all the staff. Aside from the warmth and focus of the working environment, I appreciate that FPIN does not shy away from innovating to find out what and what doesn’t work in the pursuit of educating medical professionals on evidence-based medicine.

Favorite Netflix series or movie and why?

My favorite movie is Interstellar. I am a big fan of “not-so-distant future” films, and Interstellar just scratches that itch for me in a way that most movies don’t. On the Netflix side, I think Black Mirror is my favorite. It blends my favorite genres, sci-fi and psychological thriller, in a way that makes me reflect on what it means to be human.
